Professional Day of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences and Probation of the Ministry of Justice

Minister of Justice Paata Salia presented certificates of appreciation to 29 employees of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences and Probation under the Ministry of Justice. The awards recognized their conscientious and dedicated performance of official duties. The ceremony was held as part of an event celebrating the Agency’s Professional Day. The Minister of Justice congratulated the staff on their professional day and highlighted the crucial role the Agency plays in preventing recidivism and strengthening public safety. Nika Tskharashvili, Head of the Agency, also addressed attendees, expressing gratitude to the staff for their commitment and wishing them success in their future activities. The event was attended by deputy ministers, Agency personnel, and invited guests.

The National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-Custodial Sentences and Probation continues to carry out its educational initiatives. Beneficiaries of the Juvenile Referral Center recently visited the Museum of Illusions in Tbilisi, where they explored interactive exhibits including holographic portraits and anti-gravity rotating rooms. These types of activities play a vital role in promoting the rehabilitation and social reintegration of the beneficiaries, which is one of the core priorities of the agency.

As part of the agency's educational and recreational program, juveniles had the opportunity to prepare and enjoy various confectionery items themselves. The initiative is designed to support the beneficiaries' rehabilitation and reintegration into society, help them discover new interests, and guide them toward potential career paths.

Nika Tskhvarashvili has been appointed as the Head of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Execution of Non-Custodial Sentences and Probation under the Ministry of Justice.

Nika Tskhvarashvili has been appointed as the Head of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Execution of Non-Custodial Sentences and Probation under the Ministry of Justice. The Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, along with Deputy Minister Aleksandre Maisuradze, formally introduced the new head to the agency’s staff. Nika Tskhvarashvili has extensive working experience working within the Ministry of Justice. Before being appointed as the Head of the Agency, he held the position of Director General of the Special Penitentiary Service.

National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences and Probation extends heartfelt congratulations to all children on the occasion of the Children’s Day. In celebration of this day, the Agency continues its series of educational and recreational activities for its young beneficiaries. An entertainment event was organized for the minors under the care of the Agency’s Juvenile Referral Center in Tbilisi, held at Zgvisubani Park. The event featured engaging activities led by professional animators, ensuring a joyful and lively atmosphere for the participants. At the conclusion of the event, the children received symbolic gifts. These initiatives are an integral part of the Agency’s efforts to support the rehabilitation, resocialization, and social integration of minors.

Within the framework of an educational and entertainment program, juveniles were introduced to the centuries-old history of Gonio Prison. They also visited the museum, artifacts, and the tomb of Saint Matthias on the premises. At the end of the event, the participants were presented with symbolic gifts. Such activities aim to promote the rehabilitation, resocialization, and socialization process of juveniles, which is a key priority of the agency.

The National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences and Probation continues implementing educational initiatives to rehabilitate and reintegrate its beneficiaries. With the support of "Silk Factor Studios," the agency organized a visit for teenagers to an exhibition of paintings by artist Nino Peradze. During the event, the artist engaged with the participants, discussing the significance of visual arts and sharing insights into her creative process, including palette selection and painting techniques. Such activities aim to identify new areas of interest for the agency's beneficiaries and help them make professional choices in the future, which is a key priority of the agency.

A conference on juvenile diversion and restorative justice was held in Istanbul.

Organized by UNICEF and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, the event highlighted the Georgian model of diversion as one of the leading examples in the region. Iason Nachkebia, Head of the Analytical Department of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Non-custodial Sentences and Probation, presented Georgia’s experience in implementing diversion mechanisms. Participants discussed the development of diversion and restorative justice programs, emphasizing the need for a strong legislative framework, individualized assessments, rehabilitation services, mediation institutions, and effective inter-agency coordination.
