Conditional sentence
An alternative measure to the punishment imposed by the court, which the convicted person serves instead of the punishment imposed by the court's verdict, during the probationary period, in compliance with the conditions provided by the legislation.
Probationary period - a period of time determined by the court's conviction, during which the convicted person must not commit a new crime and must fulfill the duty imposed on him.
The court establishes a probationary period for not less than one and not more than six years.
When there is a bases under Article 721(1) of Criminal Code of Georgia, the court shall establish the probation period of not less than two and not more than seven years.
