Restriction of rights related to weapons

  • Restriction of rights related to weapons means restriction and/or prohibition of the manufacture, acquisition and/or storage, carrying and/or use of weapons (including service weapons).
  • Restriction of rights related to weapons is imposed as a punishment for a term of one to five years.
  • Probation officer registers convicted person in data and explains to him the rules and conditions of serving the sentence.
  • Probation officer, within 3 working days from the date of receipt of the enforceable legal act, sends a request to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia to cancel the convicted person's license (permit) related to weapons.
  • The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia cancels the license (permit) related to weapons and confiscates weapons in accordance with the procedure established by the legislation of Georgia. In the event of cancellation of a license (permit) based on the request of a probation officer, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia shall provide information about the measures taken to the Probation Bureau no later than 3 working days.
