House arrest
- Enforcement of house arrest implies the obligation of the convicted person to remain continuously at his/her place of residence during the relevant period of time, day and night, established by a legal act.
- House arrest is imposed on a person with no criminal record for a period of six months to two years.
- House arrest may be imposed for a period of less than six months and more than two years if deprivation of liberty, community service, correctional work or a fine is replaced by house arrest.
- House arrest shall not be imposed on a conscripted military serviceman or a person who has committed a domestic crime.
- During the period of serving house arrest, the convicted person is prohibited from crossing the Georgian border.
- House arrest, as a rule, shall be enforced using electronic surveillance.
